CYCLONE ANAYA’S TOP 5 DRINKS FOR FALL

It’s that time of year; football is back, the sun is setting earlier, and cooler temperatures are on the horizon. Fall is here and we have all the cocktails and beverages you need to celebrate it. Bar Director, Mike Favorite, gave us his list of the best Fall drinks at Cyclone Anaya’s that bring the season to life through flavors and sensations. Check out our list below and let us know what other drinks you enjoy this time of year!

5. Old Fashioned
Dating back to at least 1881, this classic cocktail is a wonderful warming Fall drink. Of course, our Old Fashioned consists Bourbon, bitters, sugar, and soda water, with a maraschino cherry and orange slice garnish. Ask any one of our talented bartenders to craft one for you the next time you’re in!

4. Saint Arnold’s Elissa IPA
Who doesn’t like to enjoy a cold one during the game, and what better than a local brew? Saint Arnold’s Elissa IPA is brewed right here in Houston by Texas’ oldest craft brewery. It’s a traditional IPA (India pale ale) with lots of hoppiness, but the bitter flavor typically found in IPA’s is very mild in this beer. The deep, rich flavor of the Elissa is perfect for a crisp Fall afternoon.

3. Mimosa
Speaking of good drinks to have during the game, our brunch sets up nicely for a full day of football! Every Saturday and Sunday, from the minute we open until 3 PM, we have every brunch lover’s favorite special: Penny Mimosa Refills. After $11 for the first glass, you can start your own champagne-and-orange-juice-fueled party. Enjoy these quintessential brunch beverages with a wide array of brunch bites. From Tex-Mex favorites, to pancakes, and seafood dishes, we have meals for any palate.

2. Cyclone’s Coffee
Once the Texas heat begins to subside, that refreshing Fall chill will hit the air. There’s nothing better to warm your body and spirit than Cyclone’s Coffee. Our special house blend from local coffee roaster, Katz Coffee, is served with Amaretto, Irish cream, and coffee liqueur. Caught up in PSL (Pumpkin Spice Latte) fever? We can add the same great pumpkin taste to make a cocktail that’s oozing with Fall flavor.

1. Roasted Jalapeño Margarita
A margarita had to be at the top of the list from the restaurant who brought the Jumbo Margarita to Houston, right? Spicy cocktails are popping up all over the place, and as the weather cools, you’re going to want a drink that brings the heat. Our Roasted Jalapeño Margarita is a great option for margarita lovers who are looking for the same kick. The subtle smoke of Cazadores Reposado tequila, with agave, lime juice, and a roasted jalapeño, will deliver the fiery taste and aroma you’re after.
